Indigo Cat Crochet
I started to crochet about 2012 – 10 years ago after meeting a lady who crocheted.
She showed me that a few relatively simple stitches can make a masterpiece.
I grew up knitting with my grandmother and re-learnt that craft from the members at the Maleny Arts and Crafts Association.
There I also learnt to spin my own #yarn and how to prepare wool for spinning.
I will be honest at one point this made me a #wool only type of gal but then I learnt to #crochet and understand that acrylic yarn has its place as well. These days I favour cotton or bamboo for #amigurumi and #clothing to be worn next to the skin, especially my favourite to make festival tops.

How did I learn?
Well when it comes to crochet, there are thousands of resources available online. I predominantly used YouTube, Blogs and Craftsy (now known as mybluprint.com unlimited craft videos for $10.99 a month).
What do I use Now?
These days I have learnt to read patterns and my favourite website for both Crochet and Knitting Patterns is Ravelry
What about meeting other crafters?
Locally to me there are several craft and coffee groups that meet weekly or fortnightly, I join these groups when I can to learn new techniques and meet other crafters. I also started a local group on Facebook for crafting… feel free to join us! 🙂
